Title:
OPTICALLY ACTIVE AMINO ALCOHOL DERIVATIVES AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1988/000939
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Optically active substituted amino alcohols represented by general formulas (I) and (II), (wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an acyl group or an amino-protecting group, R3 represents a hydroxy-protecting group, or R1 and R2 may be bound to each other to form a divalent amino-protecting group, or R2 and R3 may be bound to each other to form a carbonyl group or a group represented by general formula (III), (wherein R4 and R5, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or an optionally substituted aryl group, or R4 and R5 may be bound to each other to form a lower alkylene group) and, when R2 and R3 are bound to each other to form a group represented by general formula (III), a substituted group of either R4 or R5 may be bound to R1 to form a single bond) or their salts, and processes for their preparation. These compounds are useful as intermediates for synthesizing renin inhibitors.
