Abstract:
It is intended to provide a novel optically active compound from a substituted phenylpropionic acid derivative which has a potent transcription-activating effect on human peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor &agr and shows a potent effect of lowering blood lipid (cholesterol and neutral fat) levels. Namely, an optically active phenylpropionic acid derivative represented by the following formula (1), its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a hydrate thereof and a process for producing the same.
