Title:
OPTICALLY COUPLING MEMBER, OPTICAL CONNECTOR USING SAME, AND MEMBER FOR HOLDING OPTICALLY COUPLING MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/046800
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention easily aligns a lens and an optical fiber with each other, while suppressing a cost increase. This optically coupling member is provided with: an optical fiber (13); a holder (11) which holds the optical fiber (13) inserted from an inserting hole (11a) formed at one end thereof; and a lens, such as a collimator lens (12), that is housed in a housing section (11c) formed on the other end of the holder (11). The optically coupling member performs the alignment by bringing the lens and/or the end surface of the optical fiber (13) into contact with contact surfaces (11e1, 11e2) that are formed in the vicinity of the housing section (11c) by providing recessed sections (11e) on the outer circumference in the vicinity of the housing section (11c) of the holder (11). The optically coupling member is characterized in that a plurality of recessed sections (11e) are provided on a same plane that orthogonally intersects the inserting direction of the optical fiber (13).
