Title:
OPTICALLY INDUCED BIREFRINGENT MATERIAL, OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM USING SAME, AND OPTICAL RECORDING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/057688
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An optically induced birefringent material, which causes birefringence depending on the polarization state of irradiation light, is characterized in that the material includes a polarization sensitive component and a polymer matrix, the polarization sensitive component is coupled with the polymer matrix through covalent bonding, and the reaction of the polarization sensitive component caused by light irradiation is irreversible. An optical recording medium is made from the optically induced birefringent material, and polarization holographic multiplex recording is applied to the optical recording medium.
