Title:
OPTO-ELECTRIC HYBRID SUBSTRATE, OPTICAL COMMUNICATION MODULE USING SAME, AND OPTICAL ELEMENT INSPECTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/014363
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an opto-electric hybrid substrate (30) for an optical communication module, wherein: on a first surface side of an insulating layer (31) is provided an electric circuit part E having a pad (34a) that is for mounting of an optical element (32), a pad (34b) that is for an optical element driving device (33), and electrical wiring Y that includes a wiring portion A which connects the pad (34a) and the pad (34b); and on a second surface side of the insulating layer (31) is provided an optical waveguide W. An opening (60) is formed in a cover lay (36) that covers the electric circuit part E by removing a part thereof overlying the wiring portion A. The wiring portion A exposed by the opening (60) is used as a burn-in test terminal with respect to the optical element (32). This opto-electric hybrid substrate (30), while having a simple configuration, makes it possible to reliably perform a burn-in test with high accuracy on the optical element (32) mounted on the substrate (30), and makes it possible to provide an optical communication module having excellent reliability of quality at low cost.
