There are provided an optometric device and an optometric method capable of performing optometry with a high accuracy for persons of a wide diopter range having astigmatic eyes, nearsighted eyes, and farsighted eyes as well as mixed astigmatism. An examinee views marks displayed on a computer screen by right and left eyes one after another for performing optometry consciously. The optometric device includes astigmatic axis angle judgment means for displaying a mark for judging the astigmatic axis angle and judging the astigmatic axis angle, far sight/near sight judgment means for displaying a mark for judging far sight or near sight for orthogonally intersecting two directions selected according to the astigmatic axis angle judged and judging the astigmatic axis angle and far sight/near sight of the angle orthogonal to the astigmatic axis angle, and diopter judgment means for displaying a mark for judging the diopter for orthogonally intersecting two directions selected according to the astigmatic axis angle judged and judging the diopter of the astigmatic axis angle and the angle orthogonal to the astigmatic axis angle.
