Abstract:
An order management device (2) manages orders which each include an article to be delivered and a delivery destination of the article, wherein the device is characterized by the following: storage shelves (105), on which are stored articles included in orders and to be delivered, are conveyed to a work station (104) by a conveyance cart (106); a worker (103) sorts the articles stored on the storage shelves (105) according to delivery destination; storage shelf information (212), in which identification information of each article and identification information of a storage shelf on which said article is stored are registered, is retained; the storage shelf information (212) is referenced, the identification information of the storage shelves (105) on which articles in respective received orders are stored is specified, and from the plurality of received orders, an order group is created so that orders sharing the same identification information of the specified storage shelf (105) belong to the same group and so that the number of times the storage shelves (105) are conveyed to the work station (104) is made to be the minimum number of times necessary; orders belonging to the created order-group are communicated to the worker (103) at the work station (104); and a conveyance instruction is transmitted to the conveyance cart (106) for conveying the storage shelves (105) on which are stored the articles in the orders belonging to the order group communicated to the worker (103) at the work station (104).
