Abstract:
This organic EL element includes: a light-transmitting substrate; a functional layer provided on said substrate and comprising a light-transmitting structural layer, a light-transmitting first electrode, and a light-emitting layer; and a second electrode. In the organic EL element, the shape of the structural layer is transferred to the second electrode, and the second electrode, to which the shape of the structural layer is transferred, makes it possible to extract light emitted in the functional layer as light destined towards the substrate. In a first mode of the present invention, the structural layer has a shape that satisfies a prescribed condition. Further, in a second mode of the present invention, the second electrode, to which the shape of the structural layer is transferred, has a shape that satisfies a prescribed condition.
