Abstract:
This organic EL element is equipped with a first electrode, an organic layer containing a light-emitting layer, and a second electrode, provided in said order. The organic EL element is characterized by: being equipped with a 20-300nm thick low refractive index layer and a metallic layer provided in said order on the opposite side of the second electrode to the organic layer; the first electrode being provided with a plurality of first electrode holes, the internal surfaces of which are covered by a dielectric layer having a refractive index different to the refractive index of the first electrode; the organic layer having a layer part arranged between the second electrode and the first electrode and dielectric layer; the second electrode comprising a light-transmitting conductive material; and the refractive index of the low refractive index layer being lower than the refractive index of the organic layer.
