Abstract:
This organic EL illumination device (101) is provided with a light-emitting unit (10) comprising multiple planarly arranged organic EL panels (1a, 1b, 1c), and with drive circuits (31, 32, 33) supplying current to each of the organic EL panels (1a, 1b, 1c), wherein the drive circuits (31, 32, 33) control the current supplied to each of the organic EL panels (1a, 1b, 1c) such that the current density of the current supplied to the organic EL panels (1c) arranged in the center of the light-emitting unit (10) is lower than that supplied to the organic EL panels (1a) arranged in the outer circumference in the light-emitting unit (10). This organic EL illumination device (101) can extend the life of the organic EL panels (1a, 1b, 1c).
