Abstract:
This organic electroluminescence element has a barrier layer on a flexible substrate. The barrier layer comprises a silicon compound containing at least one element selected from carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen, the silicon compound having a continuous compositional variation in the thickness direction, and having one or more extrema in the compositional distribution of the elements. Furthermore, the barrier layer and a light-emitting unit in the organic electroluminescence element are disposed in the substantially central part in the thickness direction.
