Abstract:
Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent element having the following attributes in high degree: high luminous efficiency, durability, low drive voltage, and inhibition of decreased luminous efficiency after high-temperature storage. Also disclosed is a compound useful in said organic electroluminescent element. The disclosed organic electroluminescent element has on a substrate an electrode pair comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode and, between said electrodes, one or more organic layers including a light-emitting layer. The aforementioned light-emitting layer contains at least one kind of phosphorescent material, and at least one of the aforementioned one or more organic layers contains a specific compound having a dibenzothiophene or dibenzofuran structure. Also disclosed is said compound.
