Abstract:
An organic EL element (1) comprises an anode (3), cathode (4), light-emitting region (5), and hole transport band (6), wherein: the light-emitting region (5) includes a first light-emitting layer (51) containing a first host material and a first light-emitting compound, and a second light-emitting layer (52) containing a second host material and a second light-emitting compound; the first light-emitting layer (51) is disposed on the anode (3) side; the hole transport band (6) includes a first organic layer which directly contacts the first light-emitting layer (51); the first organic layer includes a hole transport band material; a triplet energy T1 (H1) of the first host material and a triplet energy T1 (H2) of the second host material satisfy the relationship of a mathematical expression (expression 1); and an affinity value Af (cHT) of the hole transport band material is less than 1.47 eV. (Expression 1): T1 (H1) > T1 (H2)
