An organic electroluminescent element (1) provided with an anode (3), a cathode (4), and an organic layer (10) disposed between the anode (3) and the cathode (4), the organic layer (10) comprising an emissive layer (5) and a hole transport region (6) disposed between the anode (3) and the emissive layer (5), the emissive layer (5) comprising a phosphorescent light-emitting material, and the hole transport region (6) comprising at least two types compounds that are each represented by general formula (1) and have mutually different structures.
