An organic electroluminescent element which has a negative electrode, a positive electrode and a light-emitting layer positioned between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, wherein the light-emitting layer contains a compound represented by formula (1) and one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a specific compound represented by formula (11), compound represented by formula (21), compound represented by formula (31), compound represented by formula (41), compound represented by formula (51), compound represented by formula (61), compound represented by formula (71) and compound represented by formula (81). (In formula (1), at least one of R1-R8 is a deuterium atom.)
