Abstract:
This invention provides an organic EL (electroluminescent) element that can realize efficient recombination between holes and electrons in a luminescent layer and can improve the efficiency and service life. The element comprises electrodes (1) and (2), a luminescent layer (4), and transport layers (3) and (5) for transporting holes and electrons to the layer (4). The layer (4) comprises a compound, which functions as an electron-receiving dopant, and/or a substance which functions as an electron-donating dopant. According to this constitution, the balance of hole or electron injection into the layer (4) can be optimized.
