Abstract:
Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent element which has high external quantum efficiency, low driving voltage and excellent durability. Also disclosed is an organic electroluminescent element which has low ambient temperature dependence of voltage increase after driving. Specifically disclosed are: a luminescent organic thin film which contains at least one compound represented by general formula (PQ-1) and a hydrocarbon compound having a specific structure; and an organic electroluminescent element which uses the luminescent organic thin film. (In general formula (PQ-1), Ra, Rb and Rc each independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, with one of Ra, Rb and Rc representing a hydrogen atom and the rest representing alkyl groups; R1-R5 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a fluorine atom or a cyano group; and RX and RY each independently represents an alkyl group or a phenyl group.)
