Abstract:
Provided is an organic electroluminescent illumination device capable of improving brightness uniformity. The organic electroluminescent illumination device has: an organic light-emitting film (5); a pair of electrode films (2a, 2b) which are rectangular, have mutually different polarities, and are laminated opposing each other with the organic light-emitting film (5) interposed, and each of the mutually opposing end edges of the surface of the electrode film (2a) are power supply terminal sections (6a, 6b); and an auxiliary electrode film group (3) which is formed from a plurality of first auxiliary electrode films (3a) and/or a plurality of second auxiliary electrode films (3b) mutually spaced apart on the surface of the electrode film (2a). The cross-sectional area viewed at the cross section produced by cutting the plurality of first auxiliary electrode films (3a) in the direction perpendicular to the end edges is as large as the first auxiliary electrode film (3a) separated from the end edges. The cross-sectional area viewed at the cross section produced by cutting each of the plurality of second auxiliary electrode films (3b) in the direction parallel to the end edges becomes larger as the distance from the end edge increases.
