Description:
ORGANIC FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

Technical Field

The invention relates to an organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire during the fight against Class A (burning in the form of embers) fires, preventing the fire from growing by controlling the rate of fire, and preventing damage to living, property, building, etc. materials in the fire area.

In particular, the invention relates to an organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire by increasing the humidity rate of the cotton fabric material by feeding with water during forest fires and preventing the growth of the fire by controlling the fire rate.

State of the Art

Forest fire is the partial or complete burning of forests by fires caused by natural or human causes. There are fires caused by natural causes such as lightning strikes, volcanic eruptions and high temperatures, and man-made forest fires caused by cigarettes and agricultural products. The burning of forests causes many ecological damages. Climate change and drought are the main consequences.

Increasing number of forest fires in recent years causes serious damage to trees, vegetation and many creatures living in the forest. Due to meteorological and climatic conditions such as increasing atmospheric instability with global warming, increasing temperature, increasing drought, and continuous heat waves, the number of fires has increased significantly. Therefore, forest fires bring many negativities, up to the deterioration of the ecological balance.

Forest fires are natural disasters that cause great dangers to the environment, natural life and human life. It is necessary to intervene quickly from the start of the fire. But such fires tend to spread rapidly under the influence of wind and heat. The high temperature that occurs makes it difficult to intervene in the fire and increases the life threat of the people who will intervene. On the other hand, due to the rapid expansion of the fire area, it becomes difficult to extinguish quickly.

Forest fires in the world cause the destruction of millions of square meters of forest due to the inability to intervene in a timely manner. In addition, in these fires, many living species are destroyed along with the forests, and many people lose their lives or are seriously injured during firefighting. Settlements close to these circles are also mostly seriously damaged. It is also very difficult to intervene in the fires in the facilities where chemicals, explosives and highly flammable materials are stored and processed, as we have explained above, and the results are almost the same.

In Class A fire type, the type of combustible material is solid and combustible materials are i n the form of wood, wooden, fabric, paper, etc. Cooling and fire prevention methods are used as extinguishing methods in such fires, and the extinguishers used together with these methods are selected among water, powder and foam extinguishers. In this case, even if the fire is extinguished with the use of chemicals, the pollution of the environment cannot be prevented.

It is of great importance to cut the bond between the flame and the oxygen in order to extinguish the fires. The use of water alone during fires is not sufficient by itself to cut oxygen. In order to cut oxygen, the use of biodegradable materials that do not pollute the environment should be ensured.

Although improvements are made in the state of the art, there is a need to develop an organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire by increasing the humidity rate by feeding the cotton fabric material with water and preventing the fire from growing by controlling the fire rate.

American patent application with publication no US2009194297A1 in the state of the art was reviewed. In the invention that is the subject of the application, the use canvasses for controlling forest fires and prescribed burning and for protecting persons and property, comprising at least one reflective metal sheet accompanied for the protection and thermal insulation thereof by at least one layer of cloth or felt of artificial mineral fibres, metal fabrics and/or mineral-based sheets of paper are mentioned. However, in said invention, there is no mention of an organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire by feeding the fabric material made of cotton with water and increasing the humidity rate and cutting the fire rate by cutting the flame and oxygen connection.

The Turkish patent application with the publication number TR 2021 010082 in the state of the art was reviewed. In the invention that is the subject of the application, a fire extinguishing bomb made of polymer matrix composite material to be used in situations where it is difficult for the intervention personnel on land to reach and in fire types with different properties according to the flammable materials in it in cases where water is insufficient in the fight against forest fires, by making the first response to the fire, preventing the spread in the process until the extinguishing team reaches the fire area is mentioned. However, in said invention, there is no mention of an organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire by feeding the fabric material made of cotton with water and increasing the humidity rate and cutting the fire rate by cutting the flame and oxygen connection. Conclusively, due to the above-described problems and the insufficiency of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field.

An organic fire extinguishing system that prevents the spread of fire during the fight against Class A (burning in the form of embers) fires, preventing the fire from growing by controlling the rate of fire, and preventing damage to living things, goods, buildings, etc. in the fire area to achieve the above- mentioned purposes, comprising at least one fabric that cuts the connection of the flame with oxygen, preventing the spread of the fire to the environment and reducing the burning rate, water, which ensures that said fabric gets wet and carries moisture, so that it does not burn for a long time, and at least one transmission apparatus which ensures that the fabric that gains moisture by being wetted with said water is sprayed onto the fire area.

Detailed Description of the Invention

In this detailed description, the preferred alternatives of the construction of the fire extinguishing system that is the subject of the invention are explained only for a better understanding of the subject and without any limiting effect.

The organic fire extinguishing system that is the subject of the invention comprises a fabric made of cotton material, which prevents the spread of the fire and reduces the burning rate. Said fabric is covered with a coating material called sizing, made of potato and corn starch. In this way, the water retention of the cotton fabric increases, and the risk of ignition is eliminated by trapping moisture for a long time. When the fabric with increased water retention falls on the flame, it cuts the connection of the flame with oxygen and extinguishes the flame.

Since said fabric does not comprise any chemicals or additives, the deterioration, wear and damage of the living, furniture, building, etc. materials around it are prevented when it is transferred to the fire area. Extinguishing elements such as sand, foam, etc. used in existing methods cause irreversible damage to the area to which they are transferred. In order to avoid this damage beforehand, a completely organic fabric made of cotton material is used.

Said fabric is brought in square or elliptical shape in 0.1 mm-5 mm pieces and is transferred the area to be extinguished. By breaking said fabric into pieces in this way, it is ensured that it spreads easily and quickly to the fire area. With this spread, it takes the flame under control. The organic fire extinguishing system that is the subject of the invention comprises water, which ensures that said fabric gets wet and carries moisture, and that it does not burn for a long time.

The organic fire extinguishing system that is the subject of the invention comprises a transmission apparatus that allows the fabric to be wetted with water to spray the fire area. Said transmission apparatus is integrated into the fire truck or extinguishing aircraft or extinguishing devices that will extinguish.

The mixture is prepared so that half of the volume of the tank or depot of the equipment to be used in extinguishing is water and the other half is fabric. It keeps water on it very quickly and economically by means of cotton and sizing in the fabric structure. Said mixture is sprayed to the fire area by means of the transmission apparatus during the fire, preventing the spread of the flame around, suffocating the fire and extinguishing the flame.
