Title:
ORGANIC-INORGANIC COMPOSITE, COMPOSITION FOR FORMATION OF ORGANIC-INORGANIC COMPOSITE, AND INK
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/096321
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An organic-inorganic composite composed of metal oxide particles and an organic polymeric compound having organic ligands which are covalently bonded to the polymer chain, said organic polymeric compound comprising both a monomer containing an organic ligand and a vinyl monomer. The organic ligands of the organic polymeric compound together with metal atoms present on the surfaces of the metal oxide particles form complexes, whereby the organic polymeric compound is bonded to the metal oxide particles. In the organic-inorganic composite, the metal oxide particles are thus chemically bonded to the organic polymeric compound having organic ligands. Therefore, the organic-inorganic composite exhibits not only improved light emission characteristics (such as stabilized light emission intensity and light emission wavelength) but also improved transparency, thermal stability, and mechanical characteristics (such as hardness).
