Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting diode of a first embodiment comprises: a step of producing a substrate, wherein an uneven structure is disposed in which a plurality of unevennesses is arrayed two-dimensionally on the surface thereof by a dry etching technique wherein a particle unit layer film is used as an etching mask; and a step of layering, upon the uneven structure, at least an anode conductive layer, an EL layer including a light-emitting layer comprising an organic light-emitting material, and a cathode conducting layer including a metallic layer, such that the uneven structure is reproduced upon the surface of the EL layer-side of the metallic layer. The particle unit layer film is formed using a compound of a plurality of particles having different particle sizes, and an uneven structure is disposed which satisfies the following requirements: (A) average height is 15nm-150nm; (B) height distribution spectrum intensity has a finite value across a total range in which the absolute value |k| of a wave number is denoted by formula (I), following, and the integral value of the spectrum intensity in said range has a value which accounts for 35% or more of the integral value of the spectrum intensity in the total wave number range. Formula (I) : Where εm (λ) denotes the relative dielectric constant of a metal which configures the metallic layer; εd (λ) denotes the equivalent relative dielectric constant of the EL layer; λmax denotes the maximum extracted wavelength and λmin the minimum extracted wavelength; and Re[ ] denotes the real part of a complex number.
