Abstract:
This invention provides an organic piezoelectric material for constituting an ultrasonic vibrator, which has excellent piezoelectric properties and is suitable in high-frequency and broad bands, an ultrasonic probe using the organic piezoelectric material, and an ultrasonic image diagnosis apparatus for medical application. The organic piezoelectric material is a film-shaped organic piezoelectric material and is characterized in that the organic piezoelectric material is produced by a process comprising performing heat treatment at a temperature at or above room temperature and at or below a temperature of 10°C below the melting point of the organic piezoelectric material while applying tension and subsequently performing relaxation treatment in a period between the completion of the heat treatment and the time when the material has been cooled to room temperature.
