Abstract:
This invention aims to manufacture an organic thin film photoelectric converter in
the atmosphere while improving the photoelectric conversion efficiency and
durability of the photoelectric converter. A TiO2 hole blocking layer
formed by a wet method is provided between a photoelectric conversion layer and
an electrode. During the formation of the TiO2 hole blocking layer, the
TiO2 hole blocking layer is dried in the atmosphere, thereby being transformed
into amorphous. In addition, a PCBM/P3HT concentration gradient layer wherein
the PCBM concentration is increased near the TiO2 hole blocking layer
may be arranged between a PCBM/P3HT layer and the TiO2 hole blocking
layer. Consequently, the electric resistance in the region is reduced, thereby
suppressing current loss of the photoelectric converter to the minimum. Since
the concentration of PCBM, which is a conductive material, is high near the TiO2
hole blocking layer, electrons are likely to flow into the TiO2 hole
blocking layer. Consequently, this organic thin film photoelectric converter
of gradient structure has high photoelectric conversion efficiency and high
durability.
