The purpose of the present invention is to provide an organic wastewater treatment apparatus that uses the MBR method for which work such as maintenance is easy even as the installation area is reduced. Provided is an organic wastewater treatment apparatus for biological treatment of nitrogen-containing organic wastewater in a treatment tank in which activated sludge is stored, said organic wastewater treatment apparatus: being provided with a partition member for subdividing the treatment tank in the vertical direction into an upper layer space and a lower layer space, multiple anoxic tanks formed of treatment tanks located in the lower layer space, multiple aerobic tanks provided with immersed membrane separation devices and formed of treatment tanks located in the upper layer space, a raw water supply path for dividing and supplying organic wastewater to each anoxic tank, a denitrified liquid transport path for transporting activated sludge from the anoxic tanks to the aerobic tanks, and multiple nitrified liquid transport paths for transporting activated sludge from the aerobic tanks to the anoxic tanks; and repeating transport of activated sludge from the anoxic tanks to the aerobic tanks via the denitrified liquid transport path and transport of activated sludge from the aerobic tanks to the anoxic tanks via the nitrified liquid transport paths so that the activated sludge is circulated in the entire treatment tank.
