Abstract:
Treated water having excellent water quality is effectively obtained, thereby improving the sedimentation property, concentration performance, and filterability of sludge in an activated sludge liquid mixture in a biotreatment tank by adding an iron salt. When an iron salt such as ferrous salt, ferric salt, or polyferric sulfate is added to organic wastewater in biotreatment, the iron salt is added to and mixed with the organic wastewater and the water mixture is mixed with an activated sludge and biologically treated. By mixing the organic wastewater and the iron salt in advance at close to the optimum pH of ferric hydroxide, turbidity of the treated water caused by the generation of iron oxide and iron carbonate is prevented.
