ORGANOSILICON POLYMERS WITH METAL CLUSTERS AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION

The present invention relates to ceramic-forming organosilicon polymers with metal clusters, wherein said polymers correspond to the general formula (1), where E is SiR�2?, NR, (II), (III), (IV), (V), cyclo-(SiR�2?NR)�x?, (CB�10?H�10?C), (CB�10?H�10?C-O-SiR�2?), p-C�6?H�4? or (CH�2?)�y?; n is superior or equal to 5, while m is equal to 0.001$m(X)1, x is equal to 3, 4 or 5 and y ranges from 1 to 4. The R members may be the same or different and represent H, CH�3?, C�2?H�5?, C�6?H�5?, CH=CH�2?, CH�2?CH=CH�2?, while Cl represents clusters of transition metals selected from groups Ib or III to VIII in the element periodic table. The process for producing the above-mentioned polymers comprises submitting compounds of transition metals from said groups to the interaction of organosilicon compounds of the general formulae (2) and (3) or mixtures thereof, wherein said organosilicon compounds are previously heated at a temperature of between 50 and 450 �C in an inert atmosphere. In formulae (2) and (3), E, R, x and y are such as previously described, while p is superior or equal to 3, q is superior or equal to 1, and r is superior or equal to 4. After the addition of the metal-containing components, the reaction mass may be maintained if need be at a temperature ranging from 100 to 450 �C for a time period of between 0.5 and 5 hours. The ceramic-forming organosilicon polymers with metal clusters of the general formula (1) may be used in the production of high-strength heat-resistant composite ceramics.
