Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an orientation-regulating device and an orientation-regulating method that make it possible to reliably and efficiently align the orientations of containers. An orientation-regulating device (10) aligns, in one direction during transport, containers (80) that have a rectangular cross section part (81) and are transported upright in a single row by a transport conveyor (20) that travels along a transport direction (X). The orientation-regulating device (10) is set such that when the average speed of left-and-right-side orientation-regulating belts (30), (40) is represented by Vm, the length of the orientation-regulating sections (31), (41) of the orientation-regulating belts (30), (40) by L, the length of the rectangular cross section part (81) in the short-side direction by A, the length of the rectangular cross section part (81) in the long-side direction by B, and the speed difference between the left-and-right-side orientation-regulating belts (30), (40) by ΔV, the speed difference ΔV satisfies the relationship of 0.6×(A+B)/(L/Vm)≤ΔV≤1.2×(A+B)/(L/Vm).
