Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid-crystal display device in which burn-in and discoloration are satisfactorily suppressed. The present invention is an oriented film that contains a polymer, wherein the polymer is polysiloxane or polyvinyl, and, in addition, the polymer has a silsesquioxane group. The present invention is also a polymer that has a silsesquioxane group and that is used in the aforementioned oriented film. The present invention is also a liquid-crystal display device that includes: the aforementioned oriented film; a pair of substrates; and a liquid crystal layer that is held between the pair of substrates, wherein the oriented film is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates.
