TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention is about an ornament for accessory whose length can be easily adjusted by adjusting the length of its string.

BACKGROUND

Generally speaking, it was the New Stone Age when various ornaments began to be produced in full swing and became popular. People in the New Stone Age made various kinds of ornaments, bracelets, anklets and earrings using materials easily obtainable in nature in process of accommodating and adjusting to nature and put them on, and these ornaments had religious, ceremonial and magical meanings rather than aesthetic beauty.

In other words, ornaments in the past mainly symbolized someone’s status or title by decorating the neck, an upper part of the chest or wrists and the price was too high for commoners to possess, and therefore they were used as luxuries for the high class.

However, as time changes to the modern world with no class system and the capitalistic society in which anyone can make a fortune by one’s own efforts, people have come to be able to express their personalities and seek self-satisfaction regardless of gender and age by wearing ornaments once used by the high class for symbolic meaning.

Therefore, producers tried to make new types of ornaments to create a new esthetic value and purchasers wanted to feel satisfaction by possessing unique ornaments others didn’t have. These efforts led to the development of the ornament industry and in turn, gave birth to many inventions with different sizes and special locking methods as well as various types of ornaments.

At present, ornaments are produced in various types such as rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets etc. and express unique personalities depending on individuals’ tastes or tendencies. Among these ornaments, necklaces, bracelets and anklets have a string made with cords or chains etc.

However, existing ornaments were not possible to adjust the length of a string and therefore, had to have multiple strings with different lengths to wear on various body parts, and also had a problem that ornament units for accessory couldn’t be fitted or unfitted to the string freely.

FIG. 1 is an illustrative figure which shows an ornament easy to adjust the length in accordance with an implementation example of this invention and FIGS. 2 and 3 are perspective views an ornament easy to adjust the length in accordance with an implementation example of this invention.

With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, an ornament easy to adjust the length in accordance with a desirable implementation example of this invention consists of components containing a string (100) and a length adjusting device (200), and their detailed descriptions are as follows

The string (100) is an accessory string put on ears, neck, wrists, ankles and waist etc. of the body, and can be made of metal materials such as gold, silver, bronze, copper, iron and aluminum etc. or made of relatively light non-metal materials such as fiber or synthetic resins like plastic. This invention illustrates a string (100) made of chains as an implementation example, but it is not limited to one.

The length adjusting device (200) has a hinge axis (210) to which the one end of the string (100) is connected in a way possible to rotate. And, after the other end of the string (100) is inserted into and passed through the inside of the length adjusting device (200), the string (100) is fixed by the length adjusting device (200) and this way, the length of the string (100) can be adjusted properly.

At the other end of the string (100), a guide pin (1 10) in the shape of a stick can be fitted. The guide pin (1 10) acts as a guide which makes the string (100) go through the inside of the length adjusting device (200) more easily.

Existing strings had a problem in inserting into certain ornaments or accessories with penetration holes etc. because their ends were just made of strings or chains. However, as shown in this invention, making a guide pin (1 10) on the one end of the string (100) can make the string (100) go through the inside of the length adjusting device (200) easily and further has an effect that ornament units (120) of various sizes and shapes can be freely added and removed. On the other hand, the length adjusting device (200) has an upper cover (220), a lower cover (230) and a fixed part (240). Its material can be metal or non- metal just like the string (100). For the upper cover (220) and the lower cover (230), a round or oval shape of hemisphere is desirable with a certain space inside and they are arranged in a position that their openings facing each other vertically, and their rear ends are connected by the hinge of the hinge axis (210) in a structure that makes their front ends open and close while fixed on the hinge axis (210). And, at the both ends of the lower cover (230) can be made a penetration hole for the string (100) to pass through.

The fixed part (240) is made on the front ends of the upper and lower covers (220, 230) and combines the upper cover (220) and the lower cover (230) together. The fixed part (240) consists of a protruded connector (241 ) and a recessed connector (242), and the protruded connector (241 ) is made on the lower cover (230) in the shape of protruding upward and the recessed connector (242) is made on the upper cover (220) for the protruded connector (241 ) to be locked inward. In other words, by interlocking the protruded connector (241 ) with the recessed connector (242), the front ends of the upper and lower covers (220, 230) are closed and the upper and lower covers (220, 230) are secured not to open.

The above fixed part (240) can consist of the protruded connector (241 ) and the recessed connector (242) on the lower cover (230) and the upper cover (220) respectively as mentioned above, but on the contrary, the above protruded connector (241 ) and the recessed connector (242) can be placed in a corresponding location on the upper cover (220) and the lower cover (230) respectively.

In this case, on the upper cover (220), a 1 st incline (221 ) can be made in a certain angle upwards outside, and on the lower cover (230), a 2nd incline (231 ) can be made in a certain angle downwards outside. Due to the 1 st and 2nd inclines (221 , 231 ), a groove is made where parts of the front ends of the upper and lower covers (220, 230) don’t come into contact, and if wearers insert fingers into the groove made on the front ends of the upper and lower covers (220, 230) closed by the fixed part (240) and push them to the opposite directions, the upper and lower covers (220, 230) become open easily.

On the other hand, the length adjusting device (200) can have a silicon tube (250). The tube (250) is set on the inside of the lower cover (230) and the string (100) passes through the inside of the tube (250). Further, the length adjusting device (200) can have a pressuring part (222). The pressuring part (222) is made on the one side of the upper cover (220) and when the upper and lower covers (220, 230) are closed, it makes it possible that the string (100) is fixed to length adjusting device (200) by applying pressure to the string (100) which passed through the length adjusting device (200).

When the upper and lower covers (220, 230) are closed, the inside diameters of the upper and lower covers (220, 230) respectively apply pressure to the tube (250) and in turn, the string (100) which passed through the tube (250) is pressured by the tube (250), and this way the string (100) is made fixed to the length adjusting device (200). In addition, as the friction between tube (250) and string (100) is high due to the characteristic of the material of the tube (250), the string (100) doesn't move easily inside the tube (250) and is firmly fixed. In addition, as the tube (250) is made of soft materials, it can prevent the string (100) from damages when the string (100) is pressured.

As described above, fixing the string by using the silicon tube (250) makes it possible to adjust the length at a desired location as well as adjust the length easily.

FIG. 4 is an illustrative figure which shows an ornament easy to adjust the length in accordance with another implementation example or this invention and FIG 5 is a partial cross-sectional view of the FIG. 4, and the FIGS. 6 to 8 are illustrative figures which applied various implementation examples of this invention with various ornament units.

With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, an ornament easy to adjust the length in accordance with this invention can have more than one ornament units (120) which are fitted on the outside diameter of the string (100). Ornament units (120) refer to all accessories of various shapes and sizes made of metal or non-metal just like the string (100) mentioned above and it is desirable to make a penetration hole to the ornament units (120) which enables them to be fitted on the outside of the string (100).

In addition, as the above guide pin (1 10) can be inserted through the penetration holes of above ornament units (120), ornament units (120) of various sizes and shapes can be freely added and removed depending on situations. Therefore, if the penetration holes of the ornament units (120) which are inserted to bracelets, necklaces, earrings and anklets etc. are standardized to fit for guide pins (1 10) and strings (100), ornament units (120) of various sizes and shapes can be easily inserted to ornaments.

The ornaments unit (120) fitted to the string (100) like this can freely move along the length of the string (100) and if a silicon tube (121 ) is installed inside the body of the ornament units (120), the movements of the ornament units (120) can be restricted. In other words, as the string (100) is tightly inserted to the inside diameter of the tube (121 ) of the ornament units (120), the ornament units (120) can no longer move along the string (100) freely and in turn, a wearer can arrange their locations properly.

As above, this invention was described with limited implementation examples and drawing, but this invention is not limited to the above implementation examples, and anyone with ordinary knowledge in the technological area to which this invention belongs can make various modifications and changes from these examples.

Therefore, the scope of this invention is not determined by the implementation examples described above, but by matters equivalent to the scope of claims stated below as well as the scope of claims stated below.
