Abstract:
Provided is an oscillating stepping motor which is capable of reducing a rotational angle required for a rotor to drive a star wheel, reducing no-load running, cutting the loss of energy required for the driving, reducing power consumption even for highly frequent driving, and ensuring operation. The oscillating stepping motor is adapted such that two star wheels are located so as not to mate with each other at the tooth tips thereof; a rotor pinion provided on a rotor shaft has two feed dogs in the directions at a predetermined opening angle; when the rotor operates in one direction, one of the two feed dogs is brought into contact with one tooth of one of the star wheels to forward this star wheel; when the rotor operates in the opposite direction, the other of the two feed dogs is brought into contact with one tooth of the other star wheel to forward this star wheel; and the rotor oscillates within a predetermined angle range, thereby sequentially rotating output gears in a predetermined direction by a predetermined angle.
