Abstract:
Provided is an oscillation wave motor comprising a first elastic body 111, a second elastic body 112, a piezoelectric element (electro-mechanical energy conversion element) 113 sandwiched between the first elastic body 111 and the second elastic body 112, and a contact body that comes into pressing contact with the first elastic body 111, wherein the piezoelectric element 113 is configured such that the contour shape of a cross-section (XY plane) perpendicular to the pressing direction (Z direction) in the pressing contact between the first elastic body 111 and the contact body is rectangular, and such that the first elastic body 111 and vertices 1131-1134 of the rectangle in the piezoelectric element 113 do not come into contact with one another.
