Abstract:
An oscillator according to the present technology functions as a transformer-based LC oscillator and comprises: a first capacitor group that is connected in parallel to a primary-side winding of a transformer and forms a first LC tank together with the primary-side winding; and a second capacitor group that is connected in parallel to a secondary-side winding of a transformer and forms a second LC tank together with the secondary-side winding. A first-type capacitor bank that is a capacitor bank having a variable maximum capacity quantity at or above a predetermined value and a second-type capacitor bank that is a capacitor bank having a variable maximum capacity quantity less than the predetermined value are provided as capacitor banks for oscillation frequency tuning. The first-type capacitor bank is arranged in both the first capacitor group and the second capacitor group.
