The purpose of the present invention is to provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner with which it is possible to facilitate placement of an adsorbing member in a corner or dead space of a casing, thus minimizing increase in size, and with which it is also possible to ensure adsorption of ample moisture by the adsorbing member. In this outdoor unit (30), a humidifying rotor (63) is inclined with respect to the plane of the opening of a blowoff port (46a), thereby facilitating placement within a corner or dead space of a casing (40), and minimizing increase in size of the outdoor unit (30). Air not passing through an outdoor heat exchanger (33) flows in through an outside air introduction port (681) of an adsorption duct (68) leading to an intake opening (46b), and air in an amount equivalent to an air flow reduced due to an increase in air passage resistance in the outdoor heat exchanger (33) when frost has occurred in the outdoor heat exchanger (33) is introduced through the outside air introduction port (681), thereby increasing the adsorbed air flow to a greater extent than with a "type in which air flowing through the outdoor heat exchanger flows in from an air introduction port of an air passage."
