Abstract:
An outdoor unit for an air conditioner, where blowing noise of a fan is suppressed
without reduction in operation efficiency. The outdoor unit (3) has an outdoor
heat exchanger (13), an outdoor fan (29), and a control section (4). The outdoor
heat exchanger (13) works as an evaporator in heating operation and exchanges
heat between refrigerant and air. The outdoor fan (29) produces airflow passing
the surface of the outdoor heat exchanger (13). The control section (4) performs
during-frost fan operation for reducing the speed of the outdoor fan (29) when
frosting to the outdoor heat exchanger (13) is detected or considered.
