Provided is a novel friction torque limiter, or an outer ring member or an inner ring member constituting the friction toque limiter, that can sufficiently reduce individual variations in slip torque values caused by variations in manufacturing accuracy, even though the friction torque limiter has a small number of parts and is easy to assemble. An outer ring member (4) has a cylindrical base part (8) and a spring part (10) that extends from an inner circumferential surface of the base part (8) and that is radially displaceable, the spring part (10) comprising a connection part (10b) extending along the inner circumferential surface at a position spaced apart radially inward from the inner circumferential surface of the outer ring member (8), or an inner ring member (6z) has an axial base part (8z) and a spring part (10z) that extends from an outer circumferential surface of the base part (8z) and that is radially displaceable, the spring part (10z) comprising a connection part (10az) extending along the outer circumferential surface at a position spaced apart radially outward from the outer circumferential surface of the inner ring member (6z).
