Abstract:
Disclosed is an outer shape determination device provided with: a mounting base (3) having a rectangular-shaped mounting surface (3a) onto which an object to be detected is placed; light-emitting optical waveguide (1X) in the lateral direction, light-receiving optical waveguide (2X) in the lateral direction, light-emitting optical waveguide (1Y) in the vertical direction, and light-receiving optical waveguide (2Y) in the vertical direction which are placed on the peripheral edges of the mounting surface (3a); light-emitting optical waveguide (1Z) in the height direction which rises upwards from the mounting surface (3a), and light-receiving optical waveguide (2Z) in said height direction; a light source (D1) which is connected to a light-emitting optical core (22) for light-emitting optical waveguides (1X, 1Y, and 1Z) in the abovementioned vertical, lateral, and height directions; a photoelectric conversion element (C1) which is connected to a light-receiving core (23) for light-receiving optical waveguides (2X, 2Y, and 2Z) in the abovementioned vertical, lateral and height directions; and an outer shape calculating means (4) which calculates the outer shape of the object to be detected by performing computing processing on the light-blocking signal transmitted from the photoelectric conversion element (C1).
