Abstract:
A ship equipped with a ship hull, an internal combustion engine 210 provided in the ship hull, a supercharger 220 for supplying a pressurized gas (scavenging air) to the internal combustion engine 210, a scavenging-air temperature sensor 250 for measuring the temperature of the scavenging air, an exhaust-gas temperature sensor 260 for measuring the temperature of the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine 210, and a computer device for acquiring scavenging-air temperature data indicating the temperature of the pressurized gas and exhaust-gas temperature data indicating the temperature of the exhaust gas at each of a plurality of points in time, and determining that an abnormality exists in a piston ring 213 provided in a cylinder 211 of the internal combustion engine 210, when both the scavenging-air temperature data and the scavenging-air temperature data exhibit an increase followed by stabilization at the increased state.
