This output power control device is provided with: an attenuator for attenuating the power of a high-frequency signal output from an oscillator, and outputting the result; a high-frequency power amplifier for amplifying the power of the high-frequency signal output from the attenuator, and outputting the result; a monitoring circuit for monitoring the power of the high-frequency signal output from the high-frequency power amplifier, and outputting a monitoring signal; and a control unit for controlling the attenuation amount of the attenuator on the basis of the monitoring signal output from the monitoring circuit or on the basis of attenuation amount setting data from a data unit. The oscillator generates the high-frequency signal in synchronization with a trigger signal, while the control unit synchronizes with the trigger signal and begins controlling the attenuation amount of the attenuator using an attenuation amount control signal generated on the basis of the attenuation amount setting data, and following the input of the monitoring signal, controls the attenuation amount of the attenuator using an attenuation amount control signal generated on the basis of the monitoring signal. Thus, an output power control device is obtained wherein stable output power is output from the time output power is turned on in the high-frequency power amplifier.
