Abstract:
Method, apparatuses, and computer program product for overhead reduction are provided. One method may include determining a channel sparsity. The method may also include determining a shut-off ratio based on the channel sparsity ratio. In addition, the method may include providing feedback to a network node of a suggested shut-off pattern or a shut-off index from a shut-off table for reference signals, and receiving instructions from the network node to execute a shut-off pattern or a shut-off index selected by the network node. Further, the method may include executing a shut-off procedure according to the shut-off pattern or the shut-off index selected by the network node.
