Abstract:
An overtone generator and an overtone generating method in which frequency components
of non-integral multiples which are shifted forward and backward, respectively,
from frequencies of odd times and even times can be generated through a simple
arrangement. The overtone generator is arranged such that a first overtone generating
section (1) generates a first overtone signal having frequency components of
non-integral multiples which are shifted forward and backward by a predetermined
frequency, respectively, from the frequency of odd times of an inputted music
signal, a full-wave rectifier section (21) generating a second overtone signal
containing a frequency component of even times by rectifying the first overtone
signal, and an adder section (4) for adding the first overtone signal and the second
overtone signal and then adds the sum to the music signal.
