Title:
OXYGEN ABSORBENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/024911
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an oxygen absorbent that is capable of absorbing oxygen in the environment even if the environment contains no or little moisture, and has excellent oxygen absorption performance. [Solution] The oxygen absorbent includes an alloy (Y) obtained by using an aqueous alkali solution to treat an alloy (X) comprising (A) at least one transition metal selected from the group consisting of manganese group elements, iron group elements, platinum group elements and copper group elements, and (B) at least one metal selected from the group consisting of aluminum, zinc, tin, lead, magnesium and silicon, and then removing at least a portion of the component (B) from alloy (X) by means of elution. In the X-ray diffraction profile of the alloy (Y), the diffraction peak area, defined as S1 = W1×I1 and S2 = W2×I2 (therein, W1 is the half-width of the diffraction peak from component (A) and/or a solid solution of components (A) and (B), I1 is the diffraction intensity, W2 is the half-width of the diffraction peak with diffraction angle 2θ of 10-11°, and I2 is the diffraction intensity) fulfills the relationship S2/S1 < 0.3
