Title:
OXYGEN ION CONDUCTING CERAMIC MATERIAL AND USE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/040058
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A ceramic material capable of conducting an oxygen ion which has a perovskite structure and a composition represented by a general formula: (Ln1−xMx)(Ti1−yFe y)O3 wherein Ln represents at least one selected from the lanthanoid elements, M represents at least one selected from the group consisting of Sr, Ca and Ba, 0 < x < 1, 0.4 ≤ y < 1, and x &plus y ≥ 1&semi an oxygen ion permeable module using the ceramic material&semi and a chemical reaction apparatus such as an oxygen separation unit using the module. The ceramic material is excellent in the balance of oxygen ion conductivity and durability (such as less susceptibility to cracking), and an oxygen ion permeable module using the ceramic material can be utilized as a component of an oxygen separation unit, an oxidation apparatus (such as a reaction apparatus for the partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon) and the like.
