Title:
OXYGEN REDUCTION CATALYST, MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/124193
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention is an oxygen reduction catalyst containing, as constituent elements, cobalt, sulfur, and a transition metal element M that is at least one element selected from a group consisting of chromium and molybdenum, the presence of the cubic crystal structure of the cobalt disulfide being confirmed in a powder X-ray diffraction measurement, and the molar ratio between the transition metal element M and the cobalt (M/cobalt) being 5/95 to 15/85. This oxygen reduction catalyst is highly active, highly durable, and can be a substitute for platinum. Specifically, this oxygen reduction catalyst has high durability in a PEFC operating environment and can achieve: suppression of the Co elution rate in an acidic atmosphere; and a high retention rate of an oxygen reduction potential before and after an acid immersion test.
