Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING MODIFIED &gammad -GLUTAMYLTRANSPEPTIDASE (MODIFIED GGT) HAVING ENHANCED GLUTARYL-7-AMINOSEPHALOSPORANIC ACID (GL-7-ACA) ACYLASE ACTIVITY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/075652
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to produce a modified peptide having an enhanced glutaryl-7-aminosephalosporanic acid (GL-7-ACA) acylase activity (i.e., a modified GGT) by using &gammad -glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT) which is an enzyme widely occurring in living organisms. A modified GGT having an enhanced glutaryl-7-aminosephalosporanic acid (GL-7-ACA) acylase activity can be produced by substituting one or more amino acid residues in GGT selected from the group: 1) an amino acid residue interacting with a &gammad -glutamyl compound; and 2) an amino acid residue in the area round the active center, by other amino acid residue(s).
