Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a pacifier that can be held continuously in the mouth of an infant being hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit. [Solution] This pacifier 2 is provided with: a teat part 3 which is to be held in the mouth of an infant being hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit; and a back plate part 4 which is connected to a base of the teat part 3 and which, in a state where the pacifier 2 is being held in the mouth by the infant, has a shape asymmetrical with respect to an axis 36 that passes through the center 35 of the teat part 3 and extends in the top-down direction connecting between the nose and the mouth of the infant. The back plate part 4 has: a body 41 which is connected to the base of the teat part 3; and an extension portion 42 that is connected to the body 41 in a direction perpendicular to the top-bottom direction, in a state where the pacifier 2 is being held in the mouth by the infant, on one side in the right-left direction connecting between the right and left cheeks of the infant, and that extends on one side from the body 41.
