Provided is package paper connecting device and method, wherein even when replacing a package paper, appropriate connection of the next package paper to the former package paper allows smooth transition to the next packaging operation.  The package paper connecting device is provided with a positioning means which positions the end section of the old package paper (9a) and the tip section of the new package paper (9b) to a predetermined connecting position, and a package paper connecting means (23) which sticks an adhesive tape (49) to the outer surfaces of the end section of the old package paper (9a) and the tip section of the new package paper (9b) positioned to the connecting position by the positioning means.  Then, the end section of the old package paper (9a) which is doubled and wound on a roll (8) and rewound sequentially to package medicine therein is connected to the tip section of the new package paper (9b) with which the old package paper is replaced.
