Disclosed is a packaging construction for a plurality of pillar-shaped batteries. This construction employs: an accommodation casing having a bottom plate and side-face plates; a first tray that is fixed to the accommodation casing and is arranged directly above the bottom plate; and a second tray that is arranged above the first tray. The first tray comprises a plurality of first recesses into which one end of a battery is fitted. The second tray comprises a plurality of second recesses into which the other end of the battery is fitted. A plurality of battery are fitted into the first tray and the second tray and held in a condition in which adjacent batteries are separated. Opposite portions at the corners project outwardly so that the bottom sides of the first recesses are separated from the corners at the one end of the inserted batteries.
