Abstract:

Provided are a packet control method and a network device. The method comprises: detecting a packet flow causing a change in a congestion state; generating a congestion isolation message, wherein the congestion isolation message is used for altering the priority of packets in the packet flow, and comprises descriptor information about the packet flow; and sending the congestion isolation message to at least one node. By means of the method and network device provided in the present application, when a congestion state changes, a packet flow causing a change in the congestion state can be recognized, and other nodes are notified to change the priority of packets in the packet flow without influencing the transmission of the other packet flows, such that not only can packets be prevented from being lost due to congestion, but also the occurrence of head of line blocking caused by the fact that congestion isolation is not performed can be avoided to a great extent, thereby avoiding congestion spreading.
