Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a packet forwarding method and network device. According to an example of the method, when a network device functions as a preceding hop device of a destination device of a first tunnel, a first notification message sent by the destination device of the first tunnel is received, wherein the first notification message carries information related to the first tunnel. The network device configures a forwarding entry, wherein a matching field of the forwarding entry comprises the information related to the first tunnel. After receiving an encapsulated data packet, if the encapsulated data packet matches the forwarding entry, the network device decapsulates the encapsulated data packet and then forwards the decapsulated data packet to the destination device of the first tunnel.
