Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a packet processing method in a cloud computing system, a host, and a system. At least one network card is connected to the host, a virtual machine monitor (VMM) runs on the host, and a first virtual machine runs on the VMM, and the VMM comprises a virtual network bridge and a virtual network functional module. The network card comprises a switching device and at least two network ports. A first network port is corresponding to at least one physical function (PF) and multiple virtual functions (VFs), and at least one VF of the first network port is directly connected to a first virtual machine. The first virtual machine sends a data packet from VF connected to the virtual machine, a switching device of a first network port forwards the data packet according to a destination MAC address of the data packet and sends the data packet to a virtual network bridge on the VMM, the data packet is transferred to the virtual network functional module by means of the virtual network bridge, and the virtual network functional module provides rich virtual network function processing for the data packet. In a scenario of a network card direct connection, after a virtual machine sends a data packet from a directly-connected VF, a data packet can be redirected from a network card to a virtual network functional module in the VMM by using the above manner, and rich virtual network functions are provided to a user by using a software module.
